Avenue Lane Street Road

Avenue Lane Street Road is a 185sqm apartment refurbishment and retrofit project to two floors of a 4 storey mansion at the heart of the Crouch End Conservation area in London, UK.

The design strategy focussed on getting the bones of the apartment right, by making structural alterations to open up the lower ground floor into a generous and welcoming entrance hall, family bathroom and connection to an expanded unified kitchen, dining and living room. Joined by the reworked staircase and feature balustrade, the design for the upper ground floor saw the addition of an ensuite bathroom and walk-in wardrobe to the master bedroom, with a designated ‘record room’ created by acoustically insulating the space. Externally, the front garden was redesigned to provide a better designated and more accessible entrance at lower ground floor level, whilst improving security and unifying the front, sides and rear of the property visually.
