Elm

Elm is an office in the garden in Finchley, Barnet, London.

Sunken into the ground at the bottom of the garden, the client desired a spacious and lofty feeling ‘shed’ that would be used as part office, part storage. Designed to blend in with the adjacent fences, the Accoya clad structure has two stepped entrances formed as part of the integrated concrete ground works, plinth, external window bench and air source heat pump enclosure. The facing facade creates a semi-covered porch and provides the elevation with depth and intrigue through shadow play.
