Interchange
Interchange is a horology-themed installation for Clerkenwell Design Week’s postponed 2020 ‘Clockwork’ series. CDW 2020 was cancelled due to Covid, so the structure was not built.
The installation concept creates a useful Interchange / book library of design literature in Charterhouse Square in London, with books donated by CDW partners.
The concept was to create an engaging experience for CDW visitors. Constructed of coloured interconnected components whose shape reference the mechanical cogs of Horology, the installation features undermounted boxes of books to explore.
The colour palette for the installation’s components were taken from The Charterhouse adjacent, with warm and familiar tones creating an installation in-keeping with its surroundings yet standing out through its contrasting form.
